PRAYER
(to be prayed from September 28, 2023 – November 28, 2023)
Merciful and loving God, as we prepare for the joyous occasion of the 25th Anniversary of the Foundation of the religious Province of Saint Ezekiel Moreno in the Philippines and the 70th Anniversary of the Augustinian Recollect presence in Baguio City, we kneel in humble prayer to thank You for the abundant blessings and guidance You have bestowed upon our missionaries, priests and religious, formators, teachers, seminarians, and all our lay cooperators, even as we continuously seek to embody the teachings of Our Holy Father Saint Augustine, particularly that of “chaste-contemplative, ordered-communitarian, and diffusive-apostolic love.”
As we embark on our mission of building communion among Your people, grant us, we pray, the grace of humility that once accompanied Augustine’s search for truth, and the grace of charity that characterized his wisdom. May we, at all times, nurture a love that is pure and selfless, one that seeks to unite rather than divide. Inflame our hearts with a chaste contemplative love that respects the dignity of every person and recognizes one’s intrinsic worth. Help us to order our lives in a communitarian-synodal way that aligns with Your divine plan, so that we may become effective instruments of Your peace and unity in a world often marked by pride, selfishness, and discord.
In our mission to build communion, may our love be diffusive-apostolic, reaching out to those in need, and fostering a sense of belonging and togetherness. Bless our efforts to strengthen the bonds of faith, hope, and love among the people of Baguio City, the entire Philippines, and our mission territories. We thank You for the past 70 years of Your presence and guidance, and we humbly ask for Your continued blessings as we strive to live out the teachings of Our Holy Father Saint Augustine in our daily lives.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ your Son who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, forever and ever. Amen.
