BAGUIO CITY— “Run the race of life. run the good race.”
Rev. Fr. Ralph Laureen Ciceron told the congretation on the Solemnity in honor of St. Augustine last August 28, 2021, at the seminary chapel.
The seminary’s new spiritual director invited the people to “start with a good decision,” in order to run a good race in life.

He said that the modern world offers many options to the people. The plurality leads the people to commit errors with their choices, making it impossible for them to enjoy a good life.
“Good thing that God gave us good shepherds like St. Augustine,” Fr. Ciceron said. “Yes, we may pass through life choosing the world, but let these choices eventually lead us to God,” he added.
He also invited the people, that like St. Augustine, to be ardent and tireless seekers of Truth.
Fr. Ciceron ended his homily with the words of the Order of Augustinian Recollects’ Prior General, Rev. Fr. Miguel Miro Miro, OAR, reminding the people that the Lord is their hope.
“Happiness comes in the joy that comes from you,” Fr. Miro said in his message delivered on the feast of St. Monica last August 27.
Fr. Miro also reminded the people to “listen to the Word for their target is God.”
The Prior General encouraged the people to promote a civilization of love in the world during these present times.
Culmination of Buwan ng Wika
On the evening of the same date, CaReS culminated the Buwan ng Wika 2021 with the theme: “Filipino at mga Wikang Katutubo sa Pag-iisip ng mga Pilipino sa Gabay ni San Agustin.”
The theme is in consonance with the Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino’s 2021 theme for the Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa.
The highlight of the night was the Ginoong Wika wherein two participants from each confraternidad showcased their confidence, talent, and intelligence.
In the end, Bro. Michael Zion Anthony Madrona, a neophyte, from Confraternidad de Señor Jesus Santo Niño was chosen as Ginoong Wika 2021. Other awardees are Bro. Fernand Kiao, also a neophyte for the Best in Talent and Bro. Paul Lathrell Guevarra, a third year college seminarian, for the Best in Costume.

Other activities during the evening included Pinoy Henyo and Talumpating Hindi Handa participated in by college seminarians. Larong lahi and Lutong Bahay competitions were held last August 26, 2021, two days prior the culmination of the activity.
