Baguio City— Jornadas de Filosofia carries on to the third day with the Group Extemporaneous Speaking contest last April 14, 2021 held at Casiciaco Recoletos Seminary Mini-Theatre.
For two minutes, each participant answered the question picked by him taken from the Philosophy courses of 12th grade to 4th Year College, such as Theodicy, Metaphysics, Logic, Epistemology, Cosmology, Ethics, Hermeneutics, Political Philosophy, and History of Philosophy
Each fraternity has 4 representatives from each year level who were also given only two-minute preparation to order their thoughts and formulate their speeches.
“I was not there to compete but to learn,” related Bro. Johny Lasponia, a 2nd Year College Seminarian and a representative of Fraternidad de Sto. Niño.
“The activity made me conquer my fear of talking in front of many people and I already feel victorious because of that. I believe it is a great help to my formation given that I want to become a religious priest someday,” Bro. Lasponia added, who is member of the adult-vocation program of the seminary.

First Year College Seminarian Bro. James Sarilla, a representative of Fraternidad de Cristo Rey del Universo said that the activity was a good way to review for the lessons learned in the classroom and serves as a proof of the intellectual formation’s search for the Truth.
“The contest showcased what we learned in our studies presented with a certain spice. It was also a good opportunity to review what we learned in our classes as we apply it to different aspects of our lives including that of the society,” he said.
The winners of each year level will be awarded with a certificate on the culmination of the activity, Friday, April 16, 2021.
