Before the sundial came into a face-up, ancient people had struggled to come up with a utility to trace the tidal variations, astrological patterns, and geographical countenances—we have time here. All these pursuits are but to pack the whole of the human world into a package of community of fellows in touch with one another—in a least duration of time and even space. Nevertheless, the production of the first hourglass, which was more accurate and maneuverable, was simultaneous with rapid industrialization which was but divisive. But well, who would have thought? On the 10th of December ’09, CaReS Baguio just hosted a feast which turned the hourglass upside down! Spirited with the theme “CaReS Family Apostolate @ 10: Extending the Love of a Family Through Selfless Service,” commended affinities just gathered together for a dine-and-jam with slick attires as of the late Elvis Presley and The Beatles. Such a spree was for the CaReS Family Apostolate which was celebrating its 10th year anniversary, in commemoration of Fr. Cris Palomar, OAR, the founder of the said circle. Funny or charming as these retro dancers were, seminarians with their respective foster families just had an awesome ball in a hall of discs and iced wines! Never-alone seminarians also seized the bounty of graces and pride when they had their packets filled with give-away’s and accolades, among which Bro. Marlone Viagedor took the robe for doing the theme of the said merriment, and also of the official logo which was technically assisted by Bro. Wilson Sy. All had their own glee at a heart-rocking dance hit and it’s Bro. James Rojas who took the circlet of the night for his unlikely attire. Recognition was given also to the seven loyal foster families who had continually and unselfishly nourished their kids in both bodily and spiritual needs. Probably this is another term for each and every one of us to think of the very indispensable verity that the passing of time and the scalar movements of the earth cannot ever change the price of love and human contact, essentially founded on the core of every human family. The world has been on a drastic change, yet as St. Paul would remind us that wherever, we must not conform to this age but be so in the restitution of our minds. The said gala had just turned the hourglass down and reopened the bottom for a timeless betterment of each community, each beating heart. Forward, CaReS Family Apostolate! |
